All original artwork under the ©Erik C. Sagerstrom half of the site is available for sale. All pieces are available as
digital artwork, retouched and optimized, in high resolution, or they can be printed in various sizes, onto a myriad
of different media, from water color paper to photo glossy. Please call for pricing, size availability and to discus
printing and mounting options.
One of my favorite ways to display my artwork is to print it using an EPSON, wide output photo printer, onto primed
canvass. I then wrap the printed canvass around 2 in. wooden stretcher bars, as if it were a painting and then put several
coats of spray lacquer over it all to protect it and bring out even more color saturation. I like to go without a frame, letting
the image wrap around the stretcher bars. The color is rich and vibrant yet you can still see some "tooth" of the canvass
coming through the image.
Another way I like to print and mount these pieces is to have large EPSON wide output photo prints made and then have
them professionally mounted to firm, 1/4 in. fiber board with a float-mount. A float mount is comprised of 1 in. wooden
strips mounted to the back of the flat fiber board such that the piece, when hung, projects out from the wall a bit, making it
appear like it is floating. With this technique, the artwork, again, is frameless and runs right up to the edges of the fiber board.
A fine laminate covers the printed piece protecting it and amplifying the contrast and richness of the colors.
Another technique I have used to print this work is similar to the float mount. The only difference is that the final large
print is mounted to a shallow box with 2 in edges. With this option, the 2 in. sides of the piece are a flat black. With
the print jutting out 2 inches from the wall like this, it makes a strong statement. The art goes right up to the edge of the
box, is frameless and has a thin laminate protecting it.
The last technique I recommend for the printing and mounting of these pieces, especially if you are going with a smaller
size, is to have the print mounted to a plank of wood, 3/4 in. thick. I then add 2 in. wooden strips in the back, similar to the float
mount technique mentioned above, that pushes the piece forward in space. I then cover the print with a very thick, high-gloss
laminate, making the piece appear to be wet, it looks so rich. The image area goes right up to the edge of the board, is
frameless and the sides of the piece are a natural wood color.
Please call with your image selection(s) and let's discuss costs and a printing and mounting option that works best for you.
If you provide me with a digital photo of your empty wall in the room you imagine your piece being hung, I can "Photoshop"
your potential piece into the digital shot of your room and you can see what it would look like hung, before committing to
ordering it. I am looking forward to hearing from you and working with you to bring a little of my vision into your home.
